This can be intimacy with your partner, some physical activity, a warm bubble bath, or even a massage. Simply something that you really enjoy on a physical level.

7. Be realistic

I have also registered twice in a gym…without ever going there again after the first visit. How about you? It is all well and good to start off with good intentions and with the assumption of a rock-solid discipline.

But in truth you must feel confident about your approach and your perseverance. Think about what constitutes a realistic approach for you. If you haven’t done any sport at all in the past years, don’t start with Zumba classes for the advanced. Just begin walking or carefully jogging. This way, you gradually evolve towards more physical activity… and less eating.

9. Find support

Unless you live all alone on an island (with a decent internet connection, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to read this), there is a good chance that someone in your environment is willing to support and encourage you in your resolution.

Ask a friend to go walking with you 2 or 3 times a week, or do sports with you, or even think along with you about your eating plans. Because it actually also helps to plan your meals in advance.

10. Go shopping
